Wet-felted wool playmats
Handmade felted playmats,
landscapes you can roll out.
Jasmi Toys playmats are wet-felted by hand from natural wool into soft landscapes: rivers, seas, forests, caves and seasonal meadows. Round ones measure 40 to 100 cm, the pieces shown cost from 149 USD, and I ship them from my studio in Czechia to the United States, Japan and across Europe.
Playmats I have made
Prices and sizes are shown under each photo. Every playmat is one of a kind, so a similar piece can be made for you.
Why a felted playmat
Wool is warm, soft and quiet under small hands. A felted landscape has no fixed rules: today it is a river for wooden boats, tomorrow a forest for gnomes. That is what educators call open-ended play, and it is why felted playscapes belong on Waldorf nature tables and Montessori shelves.

Questions about playmats
What is a wet-felted playmat?
A wet-felted playmat is a soft landscape made from loose wool, water, soap and hours of rubbing and rolling by hand. The fibres lock together into dense felt that can be rolled out as a river, a sea, a forest or a meadow for small-world play.
What sizes are the playmats?
Round playmats are usually 40, 60, 70, 80, 90 or 100 cm in diameter, rectangular ones for example 80×50, 90×50 or 100×65 cm, and long shelf runners 110×30 cm. Custom sizes are possible, for example a playmat made to measure for an IKEA KALLAX shelf.
How much does a playmat cost?
Prices of the pieces shown start at 149 USD for a 40 cm round playmat and go to about 260 USD for a 100 cm one. Every piece is made individually, so the final price is confirmed in writing before I start.
Can I order a custom playmat?
Yes. Tell me the size, season or story you would like, for example a farm, a winter landscape or a world map, and I will send you a price and a delivery time.
Do you ship playmats to the USA and Japan?
Yes. Shipping is arranged individually for each order, usually with Czech Post or another carrier, to the United States, Japan, the UK, Germany and the rest of Europe.
How do I care for a felted playmat?
Shake it out, air it, and spot-clean gently with a cloth, cool water and a little mild soap. Let it dry flat, away from direct heat.
Safety & care
Each piece is a handmade original from natural wool and wood. Many include small or hand-felted parts and are intended as decorative pieces and for imaginative, sensory play under adult supervision. Not suitable for children under 3 years (36 months), small parts may pose a choking hazard. They are not safety-tested toys within the meaning of EU Directive 2009/48/EC. Please keep away from babies, pets and open flame, and spot-clean gently.
